На территории Калмыкии расположена достаточно разветвленная сеть озер естественного и искусственного происхождения (как пресноводных, так и соленых). Однако до настоящего времени не существует единого мнения о возможности образования сапропелей на территории республики и перспективы использования последних в сельском хозяйстве в качестве удобрений или при известковании почв (известковые сапропели). Изучено содержание в отложениях водорастворимых полисахаридов, полифенолов, липидов и гуминовых веществ.

The monograph was prepared by a group of authors based on the materials of the 8th All-Russian Scientific and Technical Conference with international participation “Modern Problems of Geology, Geophysics and Geoecology of the North Caucasus” (Essentuki, October 10–13, 2018). The collective monograph presents a wide range of scientific problems: from studying the geological structure of the North Caucasus and certain regions of Russia to issues of geoecology and environmental protection. Materials are presented on the geology and mineral resources of the South of Russia, promising areas of modern geology and geophysics, forecasting and searching for minerals, using the latest methods and technologies, modelling the geological structure, geoecological problems, etc.
